Caught Off Guard

So 1 of my goals for Year 2025 was to try and post at least 1 blog post per month. 😀 I was doing good, till October and now I lost the streak. 😣 Damn! Well, it was just 1 month, so as long as I do not skip December, that will be 11 out of 12 months I was consistent. 😅 "Guuzaka, address the elephant in the room" 🐘 Heh, what elephant? 😳 The video uploads? I swear I talk about that in just about every entry. Is there really any point in me talking about that once again in Noble November? 🤨 "Yes, you are abysmally behind, brother" Ohhhh, I know, I know! 😣 Someday, the Great Green Guuzaka shall be free. 🕊 But till then, though... There is solar system of things to clear. 🌌👀 Ehhhhhh, maybe not the best analogy to use? 😶 That makes things sound out of this world bad! 🪐 Get it? 🤓Going beyond Earth is out of this world! 👽 There. There is your Guuzakan start to Noble November. Fine, No Nut November since you were secretly, but not so secretly, waiting for me to make a joke about how one must not ejaculate for the entirety of November. 💦 Wow. 😶Now this entry is 18+! 🔞 But for real though, people can come up with some seriously nutty challenges. 🥜 Some challenges are genuinely fun and safe. 🌞 Some challenges have caused death and made news. ⚰ If you ask me, I prefer to sit out and watch the results of these "Internet Challenges". 😌

The 2020s And Guuzaka

If you do not know why November 1st is a special day, then you know alarmingly little about this brand! 😬 Anyways! 😜 Yesterday marked the 4th anniversary of the Guuzaka brand. 😎 Well, the nitpickers might say only one year without "Tube" in the name, but you know what? Guuzaka is simply GuuzakaTube without the "Tube". 🤓 Thus, it is 4 years. 🕒 Now time to dive right into why you clicked this blog post in the 1st place: Guuzaka 2020+. 🌠

So aside from the new ever-so-typically-Guuzaka 2020+ trailer, what exactly is so special about the 2020s decade? 🤔 My oh my! Where do I start?! Perhaps with the trailer itself, given that it was remastered just one day after its official release? 🤪 Sounds like a reasonable start to the discussion. 💬

Guuzaka 2020+ Trailer

The first trailer was released yesterday in time for Guuzaka Day. 😶 The problem? 🤔 Two things:

1) I started putting it together too close to Guuzaka Day

2) As a result of #1 and Shotcut not having fine-tuned time duration for frames, I panicked became concerned

So as a result of me feeling cramped for time, and being more familiar with Windows Movie Maker's fine-tuned durations for frames, I decided to download it, and set it up. 😎 It seemed like a smooth idea at first. Until when export time came along, and I quickly remembered its shortcomings with exporting 4K videos. 🤦🏾‍♂️

Truth be told, it's not even built to accommodate 4K in the first place, let alone 4K@60FPS. As a result, I had to break it up into multiple video clips. 😲 I know. Ultra ridiculous given that all I wanted to do was export a video that's not even 2 minutes long. 🙄 I proceeded to putting the clips together in Shotcut, adding the soundtrack, other tidbits, then exported it. 🎦

It was after that moment, that I realized how much Windows Movie Maker downgraded the quality. 🙈 Truth be told, I could have checked and compared the quality between Shotcut and Movie Maker, but I did not. 😵 I just went ahead with it, and decided to remaster the trailer today, November 2nd 2020. 😵 Talk about trailer drama! 🤪

So aside from resolution sharpness, is there anything else different between the two? 🤨
the remastered one has two cool filter effects the other did not.

Channer Trailers Over The Years

Which trailer was best? 😎 Which was the worst? 😒 Watch them all and let me know! 💬

Whoa! 💚🟢🟩😲🤯😬💚🟢🟩 You must be ultra green after watching all of those! 💚🟢🟩😂🤣💚🟢🟩

Instrumentation
For past trailers over the years, it has been that iconic synth that I used for the Guuzaka theme. Enter 2020, and now it's gone! 😶 Good? 😇 Bad? 👹 Do not care? 🤔 Well, would you like to know how I've been recording songs, intros, outros, and soundtracks for the past several years? I would put on hearing protection, turn up the keyboard volume, hit record on a smartphone and capture the sound from there. Now, let me accurately predict your emotions with emojis:

😐😶😲😭😧😱😰😳😬😂🤣

It is one, two, many, or all of the above, eh? 😐 I know, I know, I can't believe that was how I used to record music for so long! 🤣😂 Perhaps I shouldn't have even admitted this! 🤪 Then again, there's not much people that read these blog posts anyways, right? 👀 Yeah, nobody's gonna know that. 😉

So, ok! You now must be wondering how the 2020+ channel trailer soundtrack recorded, right? 🤨 It was done with the combination of a MIDI, electronic keyboard, and FL Studio Mobile. 😲 Yep that's right. Just like the way a professional would do it, except that I am not a professional! 😅 Still, we can all agree that this improvement is lightyears better than how I used to do it. 🌠 Even I am personally excited for all the new, ultra high quality music I can now produce. 🎵 Thanks to finally coming to my senses, and investing in some proper tools. 😳 Speaking of new music, this leads to the next point: new intros and outros.

New Intros & Outros

Before November 01, 2019, there were no intros and outros. Ever since Guuzaka 2019 & 2020 rolled onto the scene, it now became a thing for most videos, except certain outdoor videos and others, to have an intro and outro animation. With it now being 2020 a new decade, videos uploaded from November 2020 and onward will feature Guuzaka 2020+ intro & outros. 🎵 Again, some videos are exempt.

5 Major Pillars

Remember when it was just games, talk and outdoors? 🧐 Then it became games, talk, outdoors, and music. And when I realized that I have been handling a lot of products, I realized that there may have very well been a "Products" pillar for longer than I officialized it. In no particular order:

1. Smartphone Games 📱

2. Outdoors 🌲🌳🍁🌊

3. Commentary-Discussion 🎙💬

4. Music (Casual Instrumental Noise Sessions mainly) 🎵🎶🎼

5. Products 📦

What's Going On With Commentaries And Noise Sessions?

I know, I know. 😖 These two categories have been sorely missing in action. ❌ And quite frankly, I miss them a lot. 😥 The hold up? A backlog of videos from previous months that I have not uploaded yet. 🥴 So why exactly has this caused a pause for these two categories and not the others? 🤨 For commentary videos, I do not feel that they are videos that can be sat on for months, and then uploaded much later. That would make the content of the video stale, badly timed, awkward, and even outdated. 😬

For the Casual Instrumental Noise Sessions. 🎵 Ehhhh, where do I start? 😶 Let's just say that once I start playing my instruments more frequently, and not now and then, then it would make sense to resume. 😅 Nevertheless, I would like to resurrect it for 2021. 🙏🏾

Theme Specific Intros & Outros

Ever since I added intros and outros to my videos, I have been wanting to add Pillar-specific intros and outros to them. 💡 For example: a Music video intro could have music notes fly across the screen before Guuzaka comes. Maybe he could even chase them! 🎵 You get the idea. Sounds like an awesome idea, eh? 😀 So why haven't I done it? Just haven't been able to get around it. Perhaps once I get the backlog of videos cleared, I will be able to focus on it more. Perhaps I could even introduce them as a cool new change for videos uploaded November 01, 2021 and beyond? 🤔 Or would you be appalled at the idea of putting off such a good idea for so long? 💡

2020+ And More

The list of possibilities, ideas, concepts, and what not, could potentially run for kilometres this decade. ⭐🌟🌟 So! Stay tuned by keeping up to date with Guuzaka on Twitter, Instagram, and yes this weblog. I have not been terribly active on it lately, but I do sometimes post some pretty important things. 👀 Stay healthy, blessed, and safe this decade! 🙏🏾⭐

November 1st Entry: Guuzaka 2019 - 2020 Is Here

Guuzaka                                                                                                          2019-11-01

November 1st Entry: Guuzaka 2019 - 2020 Is Here

🔵This blog post may contain affiliate links

Did you see that Tweet yesterday? 😲 Oh, I'm sure you did! Have you seen much of the changes yet? 👀 No, you almost certainly have not! Were you expecting this to happen? I highly doubt it! 🤯 The last time time such a major change took place on the channel was when it transitioned from ATA1201058 to GuuzakaTube back in 2016. That change brought numerous differences beyond just simply a name change. It brought true brand identity, quality, and oh so many more! 🌠 For this entry, I'll be exploring the differences with GuuzakaTube and Guuzaka.

Category & Style
As the new channel intro mentions, the Guuzakan style of videos has not changed. You may breathe a sigh of relief. 😌 If you're not relieved, then you are clearly on the wrong channel. 😐 The exit is this way. You still here? 🤨 Good! 😎 Let's move onto the next point!

Cosmetics & Logo
This. This is where the bulk of the changes took place for the 3rd year of Guuzaka. Gone are the Deal With It Sunglasses! For the coming new decade, it was time to come up with something more original, so I went ahead and created something else. You will see the new logo, and name across all of my social media anchors. 👁‍🗨 Including this very blog I am typing this entry on. Oh, I think that brings us to the next point. 📝

Blog Changes
This too, is another major, major, major change! ⛰ For the last 9 years (wow, time flies! ✈) the blog had the following URL: http://atayoutubediscussions.blogspot.ca/

A quick click on that link will show you that it is broken because it moved, right? Well, yes! I changed the URL, username, avatar and the blog name. The blog has long moved away from just solely being about my YouTube uploads. The ATA brand, as you already read in the first paragraph, has been obsolete for 3 years now. Therefore, this clean up was necessary for the coming new decade. It is high time that the blog properly reflects what it truly is, the brand behind it, and the 2019 changes.

The new URL is https://thewordsofguuzaka.blogspot.com/ properly reflecting the new name given to it today: The Words Of Guuzaka. 🗨📝 HTTPS will be greatly appreciated by anyone who cares about security. 🔑

Watermark & Slightly More Advanced Edits
All videos published from this day and onward until an unspecified point, will feature the new watermark. As you may or may not have noticed, ever since Windows Movie Maker started being too problematic with publishing lengthy 4K videos, I have since used ShotCut. As a result, this allowed me to toss images, corrections, adjust video audio so that it does not overpower voice-overs, and more, on top of my videos. This is thanks to the use of multiple tracks. Something I would have never been able to experience the benefits of, had I stubbornly stuck with the outdated Windows Movie Maker. 😵

How Are You Feeling?
2020 will be here in 61 days. A brand new decade. Just the thought of that is sure to bring an assortment of emotions. Now these changes: how do you feel about the more pronounced identity of Guuzaka? Indifferent? Love the new logo? Hate the new logo? Missed the ATA traces for some reason? Comment and share your thoughts on the coming new era! 😎🌌🪐🌠

November 1st Entry: GuuzakaTube Brand Turns Two

GuuzakaTube                                                                                                   2018-11-01

November 1st Entry: GuuzakaTube Brand Turns Two

🔵This blog post may contain affiliate links

I know, I know. How lame of me to make a post celebrating my own brand. 🕶 Wait, that's not actually lame. 🤨 LOL! 🤣 So yeah, it's now been two years under this name, with the channel itself being 8 years, 9 months and 4 weeks old. Wow! 😲 Time surely flies, eh? ✈🕒 So! You must be wondering how have things been with this "GuuzakaTube" title? It's certainly a lot easier and catchier than ATA1201058! 😎 But unfortunately, 2018 has not been a kind year to creator's, especially small ones with less than 4,000 watch hours, and less than 1,000 subscribers who do not make clickbait. 😑 Actually, even medium and larger creators are getting fed up with the yellow circles, false copyright and duplication claims. Ah, YouTube. When will you ever stop upsetting the community and treating them as second class citizens?

Ok, AdSense bickering and YouTube policies aside, how is the channel otherwise? Where is it going? How long will I stay on YouTube? Well, despite the platform frequently making unwelcome changes, it still remains a fun place to watch videos -- for now.... 😶 With the way their getting sensitive about "advertiser friendly" content, it makes you wonder what the future will hold. Those that have successful, diversified streams of income may be able to skirt around this madness. But of course, those who don't give two hoots about how much money they make on YouTube, will probably keep doing what they do. Unless, YouTube stops allowing "advertiser unfriendly content" regardless of whether or not the channel is apart of the YouTube Partner Program. 💀💀💀

So GuuzakaTube, as we can see is still centered around wondrous/enigmatic/political/gaming/commentary/musical/discussion/outdoors/unboxing/childish/bewildering videos! 💫 Surprising isn't it?! 🤪👾🤡🙀 Well, no! I told y'all that I ain't selling the channel out to please nobody.  😝 If you can handle it, welcome. 😇 If not, please scram! 👿😜 As for the lifespan of the channel, well only God knows at this point. At the moment, I do not have any plans in the foreseeable future to quit. If you took the time to read this lame, self-praising blog post, thanks! 😁 You'll know what category of videos are coming this month if you read yesterday's blog post.

November 23rd Entry: 4 Games Talk

GuuzakaTube                                                                                                   2017-11-23

November 23rd Entry: 4 Games Talk

Honestly didn't really know what to call this entry, so I thought I'd just go with what I put above. Hope it doesn't come off as misleading? Nah! It's about my four games I've recently recorded, so hopefully people won't think that this is supposed to be a juicy post on the latest games like Super Mario Odyssey, Sonic Forces or something. 😅

Not sure if it looks tackier to place the images below the subheadings, and then type the text below them? 🤔 Let me know what's better. So! As you can tell from the title and video itself, this recorded segment is about me just looking at the daily tasks to be done, maxing out the Lamborghini Veneno, and then decided between maxing out the Corvette or doing something else. I ultimate ended up just purchasing some cars required for getting stars from the older seasons, over dealings with the Chevrolet Corvette, La Ferrari and Sesto Elemento. Some may say that it was bad choice and that I probably should have maxed the Chevrolet Corvette. In all honesty, I think that I couldn't have gone wrong with either choice. I just wanted to try and get some of those earlier races completed while I had Double Credits activated. Ironically when time was running out, I actually jumped to seasons 7 and 8 to milk out the most profitable star bonus races. Now the parts about me racing obviously (if you've seen the video) weren't done on camera, but it was then that I realized that it really would have actually been a better idea to max a Class A car out after all... 😳😖 Heck, even a high-end Class B car like the Shelby GT500 or Lamborghini Gallardo would have been a good idea. Well, there's always another time.😏

So after running through the eerie, windy tracks from the last Mexican run, the crew has decided to head northeast to Washington District of Columbia! 🦅 Yeah, America's capital. The board special is not surprisingly an eagle for this track, and it seems to have an aerial theme judging from the presence of planes and other aircraft that can be seen on parts of the track. Oh yeah, and Lauren's 2nd outfit also backs this up. So what do I think of this track? If I must be very honest, I miss the Mariachi music and howling winds of that dumb Halloween track. I really do. It was such a special, unique touch that they've added, that I've never seen done on their tracks before. Ok, so there's probably other tracks that have bonus music mixed into the regular theme, but I've never heard or ran on them, so I can only comment based on what I've seen. But yeah, coming from that vibrant, festive track to this one with the regular music felt like a step down. Not to say that Washington D.C. sucks, because it does have its charms, but it's not as exciting. If the next tour takes place in a Christmas themed subway, it'll be interesting to see what they'll do to the music. Well, if they decide to do anything at all, that is.

Yes, this is one of those old, good, retro, pixelated shooting games. All you do is shoot the opposing aliens, spaceships and monsters to progress to the next level. Be careful not to let them shoot you though, because you apparently have no hit points! 😰 Yeah, so if you take just one hit or if they even touch you, the level restarts. 💀 So don't get #REKT wrecked! Wish this had QWERTY support so I could use the keys to move left and right and fire my lasers. Probably not something 99% of users would be concerned about, but if you have something like a Blackberry Classic, Passport or any other phone with a physical keyboard, you'll really appreciate that.🎮

So when was the last time that I uploaded a video of this game to channel? July 1st, 2016. 😲 When was this recent video uploaded? Today, the 23rd of November. Woooooo! So you can see that it's been a while. Sometimes, there are just some games that I think that I won't play and record again, only to find that I do just that: record and play. And yes, this does look just like a Koopa's shell, minus the holes. But is it really supposed to one? Likely so. This game is a simple, endless sliding platform game. Jump, dodge the enemies, collect coins and power-ups, and slide as far as you can. That's it. For this reason, some might consider this game to be very boring and slow paced, but I think it's alright. Just don't play it for too long. As I commented in the video, it would have been much better if the background would change after reaching a certain distance. Deserts, forests, snowy mountains, cityscapes and others would've been some great additions to this game.

Tomorrow's going to be that time of November again -- Black Friday! 🛒 Shops, both physical and online are going to be crazy busy! But please refrain from trampling, pushing, slapping and otherwise hurting others over materialistic goods. 😅 I know a good number of you aren't like that, but there's also a good number of you that are! 😬 And for the Internet shoppers, don't troll, abuse, or perform fraudulent tactics over goods. Now that aside, I hope you manage to successfully snag some good deals! On an Asphalt 8 front, it does not look like Gameloft will respond to my enquiry, so we'll just have to hope that they keep the updates coming for Windows Phone. I should probably get my game file synced to an online account real soon, to avoid those "accidental losses" that may happen as they claim. For the upcoming videos, it looks like this weekend will be much nicer, so I should finally be able to get back to some outdoor shoots! For games, I may record a race of Asphalt 8, but I cannot guarantee that this will happen. The commentary I planned to do will be pushed back to early December. You can also expect an unboxing video to accompany the outdoor videos being uploaded next week. Alright, now that's it and I am out!

November 15th Entry: Bowmanville Though

GuuzakaTube                                                                                                   2017-14-17

November 15th Entry: Bowmanville Though

What about Bowmanville? Nothing super special. Well, I'm sure there are many significant events that may have happened in this town throughout its history. I have not looked into it though. I just went there to film some schools north of the Liberty Street & Wellington Street area. Let's discuss them below. Oh, and I also recorded yet another Funkoi game that same weekend!

I've covered Clarington Central in the past, so it was only a matter before I did another one of Bowmanville's schools. How was this one? Well, some parts of it looked really boring and stale, while others were a little more interesting. Nothing overall was remarkable. This school has a large track and is connected to the Alan Strike Aquatic and Squash Centre. Why does this high school have two public schools so close to it? I don't know, but a quick search told me that Duke of Cambridge Public School is French immersion, while Vincent Massey Public School is just a "regular". Not sure how different that's supposed to make them, but alright. Let's proceed to discussing the latter school.

Another Vincent Massey? Yeah, only one is administered within Durham District School Board, while this one is administered within the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board. So! Is there anything special about this place? Yes, there's a black bell in front of the school that captured my attention. Did I ring it? No, because that would just draw unnecessary attention to myself, while I was trying to keep it lowkey. So aside from that bell, there's nothing else special or worthy of mention about this small school.

You know when the last time I recorded a gameplay session of this game was? October 14, 2016. Do you know when I recorded this gameplay session for this entry? November 12, 2017. 😨😱😰 Yeah, so that means that I haven't recorded this game for well over a year! Wow! So as you can tell from the title of this video, the emphasis this time is the sound. Gone are the computer microphone days! Boy, I sure as hell don't miss them! 🤣 Such cringey videos those were! Anyways, well, nothing particularly special happens this time around during my gameplay session. Actually wait, something special does happen! I broke some old high scores and managed to unlock a purple jumbo jet. Special? I think so.

So yes, this has been a fairly light entry. There wasn't really a ton to say about these places and the game, hence why it is the way it is. Not that this being light is a bad thing though, because some of my entries have been known to be long like a reticulated python! Anyways, what's next? Some outdoor videos if the coming weekend does not actually end up raining. The Weather Network says that it will rain, but it could change by the time the weekend actually comes. Aside from outdoor videos, I may also get a gaming video or two done. Commentaries? Likely not, but maybe. As for Asphalt 8, I posted an enquiry on Gameloft's Asphalt 8 forum, but only received one response from another person was curious about the same thing. I tried looking around for a contact button on Gameloft's website, but it seems nonexistent? I'll consider shooting a direct message at either Asphalt or Gameloft on Twitter and see what happens. iPhone X? I think I may have mentioned this a little back, but if I had a choice between any of the 3 2017 iPhones, I'd choose the iPhone 8 Plus. Why? Because it's large, lacks the obnoxious notch present on the iPhone X, and has a normal 16:9 ratio of 1920 X 1080. So I guess that does it for this entry, now out I am!

November 10th Entry

GuuzakaTube                                                                            Friday, November 10, 2017

November 10th Entry

How interesting it is, that I'm writing this entry exactly one day before Remembrance Day. The day where we remember the soldiers that have fallen during the 1st World War. Well,  for the Commonwealth of Nations. Other countries, I think, do not do anything special on the 11th of November, but I could be dead wrong on that so let's just go ahead and discuss the latest videos for now.

Ever since I created the discussion video on Asphalt 8, I wanted to figure out a way how I would record my Lumia's screen. We hopefully all know by now that the Windows Phone platform has no applications for recording the screen. For games that do not involve extensive tilting that forces you to play upright, I just record them with another camera while the Lumia sits flat on the desk. Asphalt 8, does not give you that luxury so I had to figure out how I'd keep a camera still in front of my chest while seated. I tried to look into capture cards at one point, only to quickly discover that this idea was a clustermess. So anyways! I made the camera "float" and got it done. As I discovered from watching the video during editing time, there were a lot of parts that did not appear very sharp. Though I did not have a problem with the immersive tilting, I felt that it may pose a mild risk for motion sickness, thus I put that warning in the 1st slide. So as we can tell from the title, this is the 1st video I've recorded of the Munich Update, but too bad Gameloft once again did not make these tracks appear anywhere between Seasons 1-8! Gameloft really needs to make all their new tracks appear within seasons 1-8 and not just 9, because this is very problematic on a number of levels. Firstly, it does not give many players the chance to get sufficient practice on these tracks. Secondly, while they do appear in Season 9, the problem is that you need a maxed car, and we all very well know by now how statrosphereically expensive these cars are to max out! Not cool, not fun! I hope they change this soon. To date, I can't even find many videos on the Munich tracks because of this.

Moon Jewels! This game as you may, or may not know, is one of those Bejeweled-inspired puzzle games. But this one has a midnight, foresty, moonlit theme. Oh, and nice music to accompany it. Overall, nothing terribly special, but it was still a lot of fun playing and recording it for the first time. It would have been a much better idea to record it flat on the desk, since the game doesn't involve any tilting. 😅 But I played it upright during that gaming session, because I already had the camera setup to "float". Don't sound too convinced about the game? I'll let the pictures I screen captured below do the rest of the talking.

Eyebert: A Gameplay Video To Test The Nokia Lumia 1520's 4 Microphones

Funkoi! Are they still around or what? Either way, their games remain, and they remain to be good. Maybe they're just not around on the BlackBerry 10 platform, but I haven't looked heavily into this, so let's just discuss two things: the game itself and the Lumia 1520's microphones. The game itself is excellent! It is indeed my favourite Funkoi game, with Kiwi Wonder probably being 2nd. In Eyebert, you run through various levels in various worlds to collect jewels and spheres, while dodging the ugly enemies! Seriously, have you seen them? They ugly bad! 🤣It'll be interesting to see how many views this will get. At the time of this writing, my Tunnel X videos have 350+ combined, while Alpha Zero has 1, and Kiwi Wonder has 16. 😅 While I do have intentions to try Kiwi Wonder again, since it was tried at the time when I had no proper microphone, I was horrendous at Alpha Zero, so do not expect to see any more gameplay videos on it. 😰 Now the microphones! Personally, I think they were quite good. 🙂 Obviously they're no Blue Microphone Snowball or Blue Yeti slayers by any means, but they do a decent job. My Blue Microphone Snowball remains as the primary device for recording most commentaries, and all gaming sessions that have been recorded on my BlackBerry Q10 through Headless ScreenCorder. The games played on my Lumia use the Q10's microphones for laziness convenience.

Yes oh yes! It's been 11 months since the "popular" Leo P video! It was only a matter of time that I decided to do another Zooz member -- The King of Sludge! You know what's funny? Nowhere in the video did I speculate about why he gave himself that title. Yeah, of all the things I talked about, I don't know why I didn't mention that at all, but oh well. The video's done and I like the overall results. There's not much more I can say other than to tell you to watch the video and tell me how you reacted to it! 😝

Ok, so there was initially supposed to be 3 outdoors videos to join the games and commentary in this batch, but that didn't happen. Hopefully, that same super annoying event won't take place again to sour my mood and put me off from getting them done. So aside from these outdoor videos, I'm not sure what else will go up next week. Well, there's another somewhat obvious video that I plan to do very soon, but aside from that, it's unknown. On a game related front, it's really a bummer to hear that Gameloft will stop supporting the Windows Phone platform. Dungeon Hunter 5, though a game I do not play or care bout, was specifically mentioned that it would no longer receive any updates. I hear that others are going to cease updates as well. Which ones exactly? I don't know, but will be watching for Asphalt 8 particularly, since that's the only game from them that I care about. Upon loading it up after the Munich Update, I saw this message:

In preparation for future updates, MSN will replace Xbox from Update 23 onward. We recommend using this new social linking method to prevent unintended loss of progress that may occur.

Simply log into MSN to link your credentials and secure your current progress via Settings > Connect > MSN.

Ok, so Asphalt 8 is still ticking on this platform, but for how much longer? Only time will tell. I'll gather more information on this in the coming days. 😶

Wow. I uploaded 4 videos to YouTube today, and I can't believe how unbelievably fast they hit the servers! Seriously, for four videos that totalled 65 minutes combined, I don't know how they hit became published in less than two hours! Crazy, but good! As I've noticed, it may very well be the fact that this batch doesn't include an outdoors video, which tends to bog down the speed for fairly obvious reasons. Anyway! Let's get on with the following: Testing Three Microphones, Flappy 2048: Flapping Into The Future!, Asphalt 8: RUF, RUF! Can You Hear Me Clearer Now?, and Retro Runners: Running Retro Style!

I said it in “Amazon Unboxing: Seagate Portable Storage & Blue Snowball Microphone” so now here is the entry for the test video. How did these microphones fare? Well, with the exception of the built-in microphone, Parrot and Blue Snowball did pretty damn well, and even though the built-in microphone was noticeably the worst of these three, the audio is still half-decent when turned up high enough and wearing headphones. Now, I mentioned that both the BlackBerry's microphone through the use of the Parrot application, and Blue's Snowball fared very well, so does this mean that the Snowball was a waste of $69 CAD? Certainly not! As clear as Parrot was, the Snowball still wins this contest for three reasons: one, the audio quality is better. Two, the microphone itself has more controls and is more flexible. Three, it did not distort the audio or make my voice skip! This alone can be a serious make it or break it point, especially when you consider how annoying or ridiculous it can sound! Thankfully, it did not happen too often, but it did happen about 3 times or so. As bad as the on-board audio is compared to these two, at least it does not suffer from this audio distorting or skipping issue thankfully. Blue Snowball> Parrot> On-board. Microphones aside, I must also mention that editing this video was so painful and laborious! Producing it wasn't too bad, but even though it was only just under 30 minutes, but yet it took closer to two hours to finish!!! Why?! Because there were so many trips, slips, goof-ups and butchered tongues in this video. This resulted in steep, time consuming editing. Even then, the segment with the English words was unfortunately extremely awkward… Draught is indeed pronounced as “draft” and colonel is indeed “kernel”, but I've been too oblivious for too long to realize that. Oh well. My English pronunciation just isn't as good as it should be for a so called native speaker, but it's not cringing awful either. Don't laugh at me. If you laugh at me, I'll laugh right back and make you turn red, then blue and finally back into the dust you once were! Ok, I had to quickly come back to this section to mention something important: leaving the parrot application running in the background, outside of it's frame to attempt to record audio will result in complete silence, or off-sync audio for commentary videos. Been there, done that, WON'T do it ever again!!!!

Yes! The first game I tested with my Blue Microphone just had to be a flappy spin-off, because why not? So what makes Flappy 2048 so “different” is that you play as a winged cube with a number that keeps multiplying by two, every time you fly into the matching cube, with the matching number in the pole. The problem? The numbers become exponentially big after a while, so reading them can become more challenging, adding to the fact that the poles will start to move once you reach a certain number! To play this game, it helps to be mathematically aware of multiples of two, and to have a fast pair of eyeballs! If you don't have either of these, then you'll have an extremely hard time with this game! Oh, and you also need to be capable of telling colours apart, because sometimes different numbers can have nearly identical colours, which can cause you to fly towards them if you don't read and flap to the correct cube fast enough! Yeah, yeah, I know most people will probably think I'm being silly or weird for mentioning such things, or think that I'm overcomplicating the sound of this game, but just try it for yourself and you'll see why I had to mention this.

For real though, can you hear my voice and the sound effects clearly and crisply this time? The answer to the question above should be yes to anyone with at least average hearing capabilities, but as mentioned in the description, it's best to turn up your volume or wear headphones to enjoy maximum quality. If you've never seen it yet, the idea of this video harkens back to the older video “Asphalt 8: Ruf, ruf! Can You Hear Me Now?” Only now, both the frame rates and audio quality have been improved! Yes, I've been only boasting about audio a lot, but I can't believe I forgot to mention the fact that the frame rates used to be TERRIBLE, until I figured out that it was the save location doing it, and NOT the processor! Oh, those days! Experimentation and progression can only get you so far, but sometimes you need to actually invest in things, in order to truly go further. Now for the session's gameplay. Quite a bit of focus on the RUF RT 12 S, since the title does mention RUF, but I also tried the Lykan in China for some big earnings and the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento before choosing the RUF in London. All segments went smoothly, though London did take a couple of attempts before getting a clean run in each race. I wish I could have successfully executed more barrel rolls in Barcelona, but as least I didn't wreck from attempting it. I believe I also mentioned how I wanted to do more tricks in China's Great Wall as well.

It's refreshing to record something different, so that's why I went with this over Run In Crowd when I was contemplating on choosing both, or one or the other. Because I didn't end up doing it that day, you can expect to see a video on it hopefully next week, but anyway! This entry is about Retro Runners, so let's discuss it, but before we do, I need to mention the issue with how I forgot that those things are called hurdles! Actually, did I have to bring that up? Like anybody cared or noticed anyway, so let's just not bother with that! With Retro Runners, you must run through various tracks in various levels, jump or dodge obstacles and stay hydrated! Sounds fun? You bet it is! You even get to earn points to unlock various characters, all of which look like retro, colourful polygons! The graphics, frame rates and gameplay were very smooth too, so this made the gaming experience with this app even better. In this segment, I only played with Turbo Jones and Alex Windrunner, so if ever decide to do another episode in the future, I will buy some girls and boys unlock some more characters. Oh, and one more thing: this game is available on Android and iOS as well, but I'm not too sure about Windows 10 Mobile.

So now that I have my hands on a “studio quality” professional, Blue microphone, I hope to do a lot more controversial (kidding! Partially….?) commentary videos and gaming videos in the future, alongside the usual outdoor videos. Let's just hope the Snowball has a long lifespan!
