January 22nd Entry

2018-01-19                                                                                                   GuuzakaTube

January 22nd Entry
Yes! I love how these three videos I'm about to discuss, each represents the channel's major theme of games, commentaries and outdoor things. Too bad I didn't get to upload this post alongside them from the weekday period of 15-19, hence the date difference in the original writing and title. So this aside, what's been happening lately? Well, quite a bit. 😬😐 I'll discuss them in "What's Next & Other Ramblings" like usual, so let's just dive into the details on these videos!

These videos are fun to sit back and watch, but boy! I sure do hate syncing up the audio with the slides! Not sure if I hate editing the audio more or syncing it, but anyways! This is not an "I hate Editing" post. You're here to read the additional details about this video, so I'll feed you with that information. Let us start with what has inspired me to make this video: the suggested/wanted cars polls in the Gameloft forums. While I have yet to directly post my wanted cars list there, it was enough to inspire making this unique list of mine. Whether or not this video will have an impact or not, it was fun coming up with the list of vehicles I really wanted to see. Ok, so let's be honest here: this video likely won't have a big impact due to the obscurity of the channel, but it certainly won't hurt to get it out there! πŸ˜…πŸ˜¬ Anyways, I recorded two attempts with this video: the 1st where the microphone was 30cm away, and the 2nd where the microphone was probably only 10cm away. I liked the stronger and louder audio of the 2nd attempt, so I of course went with that. The problem? I still haven't gotten a pop filter for the Snowball. Therefore, there were a few times here there, where the audio distorted a little, but it wasn't too bad thankfully.πŸ˜“ Aside from this and a few of the slides having awkward scaling, I love how the video turned out. "Can you tell us about that annoying/lame/wonderful/interesting background music you had playing throughout?" Uhhh, well, since you didn't actually ask, I do not have to answer! 😜

For real though: why was I so darn headstrong about getting this place covered? There was a part of my conscience telling me to just chill that day, but I couldn't chill!❄🌴 I was determined to go outdoors and do something, despite the risk of having my electronics fail to capture anything. Thankfully, there were no frostbites, injuries or anything, but both of my smartphones did shut off. I was concerned about them not saving their videos after the shut offs, but they surprisingly saved them. Of course, I wouldn't have known until I looked into them when I got home, but was worried that the BlackBerry Q10, particularly would have just been like "PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Can't save this!" Really glad it did not do that!πŸ˜… The Lumia did alright, but was hoping that it would have held up the whole time. So cold and smartphone business aside, how did I find the place? I found it to be really interesting, actually. It's just too bad that the bone-chilling cold, just happened to take place that weekend. I could have simply just gone another day, but determinedly chose that weekend, and got it done anyway. This area really did have a lot to see around it, with the fields, the building itself looking presentable, and other grounds that I didn't manage to cover on camera.

The 2nd gameplay video of the 2018 Cairo run. This time, I finally got Princess Jasmine unlocked, and made her the focus of this episode! πŸ‘Έ Would have been interesting to have that Emirati prince also run in this episode, but it's too bad that he costs nearly 1,000,000 coins to unlock! 🀯 Yeah, so he's not going to be unlocked anytime soon. Or ever??? Why do I say that? Because Subway Surfers has now brought on the Chicago 2018 Tour, which I also believe is all-new, and yet I don't see it when I launch the application? πŸ€¨πŸ€” Have they pulled the plug for Windows 10 Mobile? 😬 I know this was done to Windows 8.1 and older, but since they've relaunched the game for Windows Mobile as a Universal Windows Platform application, I would hope that this would allow for much longer support. Due to this suspicion, I will no longer be playing Subway Surfers, unless I see that they are actually supporting Windows 10 Mobile. ☠

Yeah, so it's been 22 days into 2018 so far. Quite a bit has already happened in the headlines all over the world. And of course, this would definitely include YouTube! πŸ€’ Sheesh, where do I start? What should I discuss? How long should I make this part? So many questions, so little answers, but here we go!

Whether you've been trying to avoid it or not, we're all aware of that Paul Logan controversy. The reason I suddenly mention this is because after it took place, there's been a storm of reactions all over the Internet! He has apologized from long time, and looked very sincere and sorry about it. Was he actually sorry? Or is he just doing this to desperately cover his butt? Either way, YouTube has announced that they will be taking more measures to make sure so-called "inappropriate" content doesn't have monetary advertisements playing on them. πŸ™„ Fantastic! Just what we needed, eh? YouTube making it even harder for people to get money off it. Did they not already so something like this last year, all thanks to people uploading racist, hateful, disgusting, abhorrent content? Why, yes! Yes they did. I even remember doing a commentary on this too. Thankfully, 98% of my videos haven't been demonetized, and I would like it to stay that way. Others, haven't been as lucky, while some get away with even more than I do. Let's keep things fair, and not try to make everyone suffer all because of those that can't stop being so vulgar!😠

The weather! For those of us in Southern Ontario and surrounding areas, temperatures have been such a roller coaster for the past 22 days! You'd have some weekends where it'd sink down to a bone-chilling -20°C, and then you'd have days at like +6°C. 😡 Talk about aggressive inconsistency!

Donald Trump! I know, I know. You must be tired of hearing about this man, but I've got to discuss him! So as we likely all know by now, during a meeting in which involved immigration talks, that I believe took place on the 11th, the President grew frustrated and then called certain Latin American, Haiti and all of Africa πŸ’©hole countries! 😡😠😑😳😱🀯😬😰😩😭 Some claim that he did not say this, while others say that he did, and that he also said it repeatedly! What's the real story here? Well, there is honestly no 100% certainty, but he very likely did. He is desperately trying to cover it up, after being heavily criticized by the media and other nations about what he said. What we know for certain, is that Donald has on many occasions made derogatory remarks about other countries, particularly Latin American and African countries many times. Whether you support this man or not, these are solid facts, that have been recorded. Funnily, when he was asked if he was a racist at a later point, he didn't answer and tried to make his way quickly out of the room. During another day, he of course went on to later claim, "I am not racist! I am the least racist person you have ever interviewed!" 😐 I have an extremely hard time believing that. He even tried to defend his "tough language" which only just adds more evidence to the belief that he did say πŸ’©hole. Mister Trump, actions speak louder than words. If you want people to believe that you're truly not an inflammatory person, you've got to watch what you say! For instance, one cannot say that they love cats and then proceed to routinely kicking them. Actions and words ought to be aligned with one another.

Let's discuss the cars shown in January 2018. At both the International Consumer Electronics Show and Detroit shows, there were a lot of cool cars seen. The ones that have my interest most are of course the electric cars like the Faraday Future FF91. There was also the Byton, which is a Chinese all-electric crossover concept car. Not sure if it'll ever end up on North American shores, but it does look quite cool. The Lexus LF-1 Limitless is a crossover, that may or may not end up being all-electric. I really hope that they make it an all-electric car. It's high time we see a pure electric car come from Toyota's luxury brand, Lexus.

So! That does it for this entry, and now I am out! Be sure to check out last week's videos in case you missed them!

December 28th Entry: 2017's Days Are Numbered

GuuzakaTube                                                                                                 2017-12-28

December 29th Entry: 2017's Days Are Numbered

They really are. There's just 2 full days left of 2017. After that, it'll be gone forever. Some people will be glad to see it go, some will be sad, while some will be indifferent. Regardless of emotions, 2018's coming super soon! What will be in store for my channel and life? Find out in my final 2017 entry coming in a day, two or three from now... For now, let us just discuss those recent outdoor videos that were uploaded to my channel yesterday.πŸ•’

"For real though, what happened?" Some of you must be wondering. Well, actually, nobody's seen the video yet as I type this, so you haven't actually asked yet. But I suspect that you might, so let's just finally get down with this! The day I've originally filmed the first segment without the snow, was also the same day I filmed the Duke of Cambridge Public School. You can probably predict what happened by now: storage. I ran out of it.😰 Thankfully, that November marked the last time this would happen, thanks to my new, trusty Samsung micro SD card. Ok, so just what happened the following weeks? Well, I just didn't get the opportunity to go outdoors and film, which was really annoying, but oh well. When I finally got the opportunity to film, I almost didn't want to go back to this dull area, but because I had already attempted it, I told myself to finish it. Surely, I did. And yes, no offense, this area is boring. 😐 Just being real and honest. The other two destinations I'm about to discuss soon, weren't too bad though. That said, the snowfall made for some interesting footage and photography, as you can see in both the pictures here and the video itself.

Oh, Saint Joseph! How difficult you were to walk around! It's a fairly interesting place, but the snow, slopes and awkward cut off points, make this place a bit of a challenge to walk around. Then again, who walks around schools to film them again? πŸ¦—πŸ˜³ Yeah, I thought so too! 🀣 With it being my very first time exploring this area, it made for a fresher filming and photography session for me. I did have intentions to do the Roman Catholic church associated with it, but because it was open at the time, I decided against it.

This place was totally unplanned, as I only had to intentions to finish Ontario Street and capture the Saint Joseph buildings that day. Lo and behold, as I was walking up Liberty Street, I saw this place looking nice and vacant, so I went for it! I was surprised to figure out that it turned out to be yet another one of those Salvation Army Community churches. Remember the one in Oshawa? Ok, how about Whitby? During the video, I suspected that there may be one in every major municipality, after making the discovery of what kind of church it was. I haven't looked into it, so I don't know how true that is, but there's likely many throughout Ontario and perhaps even the other provinces and territories. Well, I don't know about the territories part. πŸ˜… Anyways, it was nice seeing this place by surprise and exploring it. Though the drivers on Liberty Street must have been like, "Da hell is this guy doing?" 🀣😳😨😧

There were plans to get two commentaries and an Asphalt 8 video uploaded, but due to intense time constraints, that will certainly not be happening! But don't worry, you'll see them during unspecified times in January 2018. New Year's be right at the door step! One thing that's going to be sad for BlackBerry 10 users, is that WhatsApp will no longer function! 😬 Well ok, we still don't know if it'll just work without any more updates, but it's still bad news. Yes, I know that you can just use the Android version, or buy a BlackBerry Keyone or something, but what if you don't feel like doing either of those two?πŸ€” The answer? You use it and accept that there be limitations, or you just do either of the other two options. Yes, I do have a Windows Phone, that is luckily still getting support from them, but the problem is a lack of a physical keyboard on 99% of smartphones these days! Typing longer messages on a virtual keyboard is still rather painful for me.... While we're on the topic of smartphones, it looks like Apple has not only come open about their battery shenanigans, but also apologized and will give iPhone users a function that monitors the battery, as apposed to the phone just underclocking itself without the users consent. Or at least, I hope that's what the case is. If you ask me, I'd rather have sheer blistering speed at the sacrifice of battery life, over a slow, power-efficient device. Not a fan of slow electronics at all! πŸ˜‘ Anyway, that's been it for this entry, so I will see you Sunday for la finale?πŸ€”

November 29th Entry: Month Nearly Finished

GuuzakaTube                                                                                                   2017-11-29

November 29th Entry: Month Nearly Finished

Another one of those entries where I had a hard time coming up with the title. I probably could have just called it "Entry of the Duke" since the video on the school will most likely be the one to get the most views in this week's upload batch. Who knows. The other two videos might surprise me. Either way, it's almost the last day of November, so I just went with that. Is there anything special set for today? No, not that I know of. Maybe for some of you, there might be a special celebration of the sort, but not for me! Now let us discuss the three latest videos! πŸ“Έ

Ok, for real though: who is the Duke of Cambridge? Oh wait -- Prince William! Well, that should have been obvious shouldn't it? I mean, I obviously knew he was some royal price, but I'm not familiar with all the other terms that they label them with, so that's just that. Should we talk about the shenanigans that took place in the November 15th Entry: Bowmanville Though? πŸ˜³πŸ˜΅πŸ˜¬πŸ˜° Actually, wait, it's better off left unsaid! 🀣 Really, it is! Anyways, my trip here was fairly interesting actually. I walked through a small portion of King Street in Bowmanville, before making my up north towards this area and passed through Vincent Massey Public School - Bowmanville. Though compact-looking in size, I hear that the school is actually large inside, and boasts 3 full floors. When the commenters arrive, I may ask one of them about this. Markings! This school was not short of markings on its pavement. The "IT'S YOUR CHOICE" marking was the one that I found most interesting, since I've never seen it at other places to date. It's usually just numbers, hop scotch, and other things. Pretty neat. Was also glad it did not remain entirely cloudy that day!πŸ˜…πŸŒž

Too bad you do not actually get to see me racing on the tracks shown above!😰 The only actual races that took place were the ones with the SRT Challenger and Lamborghini Gallardo. There was supposed to be a recorded race with the McLaren P1, but it turned out too miserable so it was omitted. 😭 Funnily, I actually almost forgot to write this entry Asphalt 8! πŸ˜… It wasn't till when I was writing the other ramblings section, when I noticed this. The title is rather plain and boring, but didn't know what else to call it. It was mainly about me maxing more cars and discussing my progress, so I guess I could have named it something along the lines of that, but didn't. Some racing took place this time, but the drift race was very awkward... probably should refrain from recording drift races, until when somebody builds a screen recording application for Window Mobile 10. Unfortunately, it feels like I'll see Santa Claus this year before that actually happens! πŸ€£πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…πŸ˜πŸ˜’πŸ˜–πŸ˜• Yeah, funny and sad at the same time! But it is what is, so I have to make do with it. Wait, there is one thing I can do to make the videos a little better: change the lights! I'm thinking of going with lights that emit bright white light, as opposed to the current lights that have a more yellow tinge to them.πŸ’‘

FINALLY! No more running out of storage on the road! Wish I bought this the day I bought my Nokia Lumia 1520! Would have saved me a lot of troubles, but at the same time, I'm also glad I waited till Black Friday to get a nice discount. πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘‘πŸ†πŸŽ― Yes! Now if you've watched the video, you'll know that there was originally supposed to be an unboxing segment, but that literally did not show up! 😡 If you're confused, I'll reiterate: I clearly filmed myself unboxing the Samsung EVO Plus 64GB, but yet the video did not show anything but the blank desk! 😨 "Uh, are you sure everything was in the frame?" Some of you might ask. The answer to that question is yes 100%. I have never ever seen anything like this! Of all the weird things I've seen smartphone cameras do over the years, this is by far one of the most enigmatic things my eyes have witnessed... Well, I didn't want to have no video at all, so I just resorted to actually testing the card by recording myself playing good ol' Pac-Man on my BlackBerry Q10. That video turned out fine, thankfully, but how will the card do outdoors? Especially with high paced subjects like moving cars? Time will tell hopefully soon! 🌠

Man, there was supposed to be a 4th video in this batch, but thanks to storage problems, it couldn't happen. Thankfully, that should no longer be an issue thanks to my purchase I discussed above! Not 100% sure if I'm going to get the chance to do outdoor videos this weekend, but we'll see. I'll try and get started on that commentary I mentioned last time, so we can see it on the channel for early December. By "early December" I talking like sometime between 4-8. I'd also like to do 2 gaming videos. Oh yes, and because "Tis the Season" I should upload some instrumental Christmas Carols occasionally. πŸŽ„

June 22 Uploads: Clarington Central and Oshawa Plastic Bag Rain Test

GuuzakaTube 06.22.17

June 22 Uploads: Clarington Central and Oshawa Plastic Bag Rain Test

Ah, it is now the 2nd day of summer for those of us in the northern hemisphere. How's the weather been for you? For me, it has been quite rainy this week, but the temperatures have been above 20°C, so I'm happy about that. Anyways! So remember how I said that I was going to get this entry up soon from the entry a few days ago? Turns out that I have successfully been able to keep my word! So now let us discuss the three videos that have been filmed in Bowmanville and Oshawa recently.

Oh, the sky, the sky, the sky! When I was here, it had me quite anxious about when it was going to rain, and how heavy it would come down. Earlier in the day, the weather was fine and beautiful, until when the afternoon kicked in and then a thunder advisory appeared for the Greater Toronto Area. Great. Despite the warning, I still proceeded with the adventure anyway. My impressions of this high school? For some reason, the front kind of reminds me of Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School. Would you agree or disagree with me on this? Take a close look at the front entrances of both of these schools, and perhaps you'll begin to notice the resemblance. Intentional? Unintentional? Who knows. All I can say is that this was a nice area to explore. The school is situated in a rather interesting location: to the north and east of it is just grassland that looks like it may be developed at a future date. To the south of it across the road you'll find a Home Depot, and the west has its massive racetrack. Speaking of that, the massive track was completely vacant with not a soul to be seen, so I was able to conduct a camera test. Read more on that below.

If you've watched all of the J. Clarke Richardson Collegiate & Notre Dame Catholic SecondarySchool video, you'll know that there was a segment in the video where the camera acted really weird when it was on the track. The reason? I suspect that it had a hard time tracking the white, winding lines against the black track. The fact that it swerved from side to side, almost confirms this. So when I had the opportunity to visit another track that was completely vacant, I took the opportunity to tweak some settings to see what could be done. For this test, I kept it on Automatic Scene, dropped the resolution from 1080p to 720p@60fps (I would have chosen 1080p@60fps if it were available!) and proceeded. The results? I did not notice that swaying movement, but the combination of cloudiness, shakiness, and decreased resolution caused the video to turn out not as sharp as I'd like it to be. Was by no means dull or grainy, but could have been sharper and better. Overall, it turns out that higher frame rates while filming seems like it's the fix for such a problem. The only way I'll know for sure is if I test this out with another smartphone, or maybe YOU (yes you!) can also conduct a similar experiment on a vacant dark track with white lines to mark the lanes, and then share your results on social media or even YouTube if you decide to make a video about it like how I've done.

For real though: do not let that beautiful thumbnail of the sunset, clouds and green fields trick you into thinking this experiment produced wonderful results. It did not. That said, the thumbnail isn't fake at all, as you will see that in the video, but the problem is that much of the video is seriously wobbly, low-res and has rain constantly beating down on the plastic bag which the microphone emphasized. As I say at the end of the video during the call-to-action, this video serves as a reminder and record for myself that I've successfully conducted this experiment in public. Record, experiment and public. Those are the keywords I told you during that segment. Though the Bowmanville racetrack video is also a successful, public experiment, it is likely far more enjoyable to watch than this video will ever be! Not that it's interesting by any means, but is far more bearable. For the future, I'd like to test this with a smartphone that is capable of shooting in 4K, and again with one that's not only capable of shooting in 4K, but is also water-resistant, so that way I can have it outside of a bag to see how the rain will affect the footage while it beats down on the smartphone's body.

I forgot to mention this above, but did you know that I was supposed film another place or two while I was in Bowmanville? Thanks to the rain and thunder that came after the track video, I was forced to go home! Now that aside, Canada Day is coming soon and it's going to be the nation's 150th birthday! It seems like there's going to be lots of exciting events happening that day, so I will try to see if I can get a special video done for that. That aside, for the month of July, I may plan to focus more so on commentaries and mobile games for that month. As long-time readers or anybody who simply looks at my channel will know is that I predominantly specialize in the outdoors, commentaries and gaming. Unfortunately, the latter hasn't be seeing much action. As a result, I can imagine that most people taking a look at my most recent videos would assume that it's a channel about schools, walks and hilariously-edited dealerships. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but you know, a little more variety from other my other areas is needed, especially if I plan to get to 10,000+ channel views as quickly as possible. So now that you know what I'm up to in regards to YouTube business, I shall get this edited, posted, and then carry out other day-to-day matters.
