December 26th Entry: Where Have I been?!

December 26th Entry: Where Have I been?!

For real though, where have I been?! Why wasn't there an entry uploaded last week? Why was there a video uploaded on the 15th, then 3 on the 22nd, and one yesterday without any mention of them on social media? And why isn't this entry titled "Boxing Day" when it's clearly happening on Boxing Day? Ah, lots of questions you guys must have. Well, we can start with the latter first: I didn't do any Boxing Day shopping, nor do I plan to do any, so I figured that it wouldn't make too much sense to give it that title, when it's not going to be the focus. In regards to the cryptic uploads and absence of their social media follow ups, it's a combination of it being the busy season, and making the YouTube Rewinds and Christmas video. Both of these were more time consuming than I anticipated. Keep reading to get the full scoop on everything that was missed and not explained! 😅

Yep! In case you still don't know, the very same company we know, and love, for making awesome vehicles like the Porsche 918 and Porsche Cayenne, is making honey! Sweet, sticky, buzzy honey! When I first read the headlines about this, it struck me so hard that it triggered me to make a video on this. And now, I'm here typing a blog entry on it, as I'm driving in my blue all-new 2018 all-electric Porsche Cayenne. 🤥 Yeah, you know where this is heading by now with the presence of that emoji. Despite them saying that you can buy this, I don't know where, or if you can buy it from them directly. To be honest, it very likely tastes the same as regular honey. Being made from a high-performance German automotive manufacturer, will not give it a high-performance taste, and it certainly should not! That would be very suspicious! 😆😬

A 36 minute long Asphalt 8 video? Yep! I've done quite a bit in this episode! Assembly, Championship racing, regular racing, opening boxes, max outs, and what else? Oh, of course, chatting! Excluding the assembly segment, this video was done after I finished updating it to the 24th update: Hot Wheels! 🤔 I know, Hot Wheels cars in Asphalt 8. Like I expressed in the video, I'd prefer for them to stick to real cars, but whatever. It's not like we forcibly need to buy them anyway. Some people have even blatantly stated that they'd skip the Championship for them, and I don't blame them. At the time I write this, these Hot Wheels vehicles don't even have Season 9 and Mastery Tracks available, to make pursuing them even more pointless! Wow, did they really just throw these in as joke? Will they change this in the future? And when they do get Season 9 tracks, I HOPE that they give them the newer places like Munich or Patagonia! Please, no older tracks like Tokyo, Nevada or Azure Coast! There's enough of those already, and there's no shortage of them in the Career Mode through Seasons 1-8. Aside from the goofy cars, this update THANKFULLY has not brought any dreaded changes, like price increases, turning old cars into blueprints, or turning credit cars into token cars, to name a few. It's actually brought some welcome ones, such as the feature that allows you to keep fusing without having to open a box (though being able to turn them into credits was still better!), and the new cars outside of the toy cars. For the next video, things should get pretty interesting after I finally get some of my beasts pro'd! Oh yeah, and did I mention how glad I am that they're still keeping the updates going for Windows Phone? Well, for now at least...😐 They still never officially got back to me, nor do I expect them to.😒

Still not playing this game as much as I used to, hence why I'm not as rich as I used to be in-game. That said, I didn't want to miss a gameplay session of this new update, so I dedicated some time to play on the Christmas themed Saint Petersburg track. Loved it! Similarly to the Halloween track back in October and part of November, it was well decorated with festivity, and had seasonal music mixed into the original Subway Surfers soundtrack. Still haven't unlocked Nicolai yet, but I better get on that before I miss it! I mean, he may appear again sometime in the future during Wednesday or Thursday I think, but that's no guarantee. Seriously though, even though it's the same repetitive gameplay mechanics, the track is really well done. 🎄✨❄

So I finally decided that 2017 would be the year that I make a video about this, eh? A few years back, I thought about doing something like this, but never gave it any serious thought, till when this year came. As a result, it gave me a lot of YouTube Rewinds to talk about, which also made the video a little more time consuming to put together, but so what? It was honestly a lot of fun to go back and watch 8 years worth of YouTube Rewinds! Oh, how things have changed from 2010 to 2017! And of course, people hate that. They hate how the YouTube Rewinds have become more fast paced, longer, and keep featuring more YouTubers that they "can't recognize" or just do not like. Honestly, I thought YouTube Rewind 2017 was pretty good. In fact, if you've watched the video before coming here, you'll know that it actually turned out to be my 2nd favourite YouTube Rewind, only behind the 2012 Rewind. People have their likes and dislikes, but mine isn't swayed by the masses, hence why I did not smash the dislike button. Though Rewind 2017 still has more likes than dislikes, it looks like it could possibly end up the same boat as Rewind 2011, if the dislikes keep coming at a rapid pace! 😰🤯 Ok, so maybe they're not coming fast enough for that to happen, but still. Wow. Should be interesting to see what 2018 will bring. Do you think they will go back to making them shorter? Will they slow down the fast paced edits? Will they include more "familiar" faces? Honestly, the latter is so subjective. While it's assumed that most people will know YouTubers like PewDiePie, Jenna Marbles, KSI and what not, there's no 100% guarantee that everyone actually does. And even if they did decide to only include the top 10 most subscribed YouTubers to make it "familiar", you'd have people complain about that too. 😏 Cannot please all the people.

Ho, ho, hooooooo! Merry Christmas! 🎄😄🎄 This also marks the first time on YouTube, where I had to file a dispute! 😵 "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA?! A dispute on Christmas?!" Some of you must saying. Yep, that's right. As soon as I uploaded the video and went into video manager, I noticed that a pop up came telling me that part of my video has audio that was done as a cover song of someone else's song! 🤯 Not sure if that emoji does enough to explain it, but seriously though?! Why was I being told that I was eligible for splitting revenue over a video, that was entirely created by me? I went in to see which part of it caused the video to be claimed. Lo and behold, it was the segment where I played We Three Kings. 🤨 Who claimed it? It was automatically claimed by Rayarmoovar/[SIDMM] Vincey productions. Who are they? A Tamil Channel that specializes in uploading Christian Music. So ok, we're all wondering why was my music claimed as copyright, despite the fact that everything was played by me from scratch, and that We Three Kings is a song that does not belong to them. This song was created by John Henry Hopkins Junior, all the way back in 1857, meaning that there is no legalities attached to it, so long as you play it yourself. I can only assume that my tenor recorder must have sounded so much like something they may have done in the past, that it caused YouTube's broken system to flag it as their music... 🤦🏾‍♂️ Ridiculous... I hope the "owners" will be reasonable and review this dispute soon, because it's not fair for me to have to split revenue for something that does not belong to them. I know, I know. For a Christmas segment, I sure sound bitter here, but I have every right to. YouTube's copyright system is something everyone's been complaining about from the dawn of ages. Now that it's personally happened to me, I can relate even more to the pain that others had to go through for even sillier and worse scenarios. Ranting aside, playing and recording these songs turned out to be much more time consuming than I anticipated, but I'm glad I did it in time before Christmas. I definitely need to start playing more tenor recorder more regularly and seriously! It shouldn't have taken me so many attempts to record a proper version of songs that were supposed to be "easy".... 😳😰😭☹ And even then, the intonation still could have been better. If I plan to learn other instruments in the future, then I'm going to need to get much more serious with my music practice and continue to review music theory.

Yeh, so if you managed to read through all that, you'll have the full story of what has been happening over the last 10 days or so. This time of the year always seems to be busy and hectic. Well, 2017 is about to end in 5 days, and then it will be an all-new year: 2018! What will 2018 bring? God knows... Let's just hope it will be a good one and that it will sail smoothly. Now because I do have three outdoor videos "in the queue" that I would like to edit and post, I will probably do my 2017 reflection post either at the end of it, or maybe just make it a standalone post on December 31, 2017. Depending on how things go, we'll see what happens.
