When People Attack "Thoughts and Prayers" Phrase

When People Attack "Thoughts and Prayers" Phrase

According to CNN, there has been 22 school shootings in the United States of America, as of May 18, 2018. Now, I have not thoroughly fact checked each and every single episode of gun violence they have listed on the map. Maybe there really has been that many. Maybe the numbers are off. Either way, regardless of whether the shootings have killed, injured or simply frightened people, it is something that needs to be taken seriously. Very seriously. Unfortunately, and this is also far from the first time, you have seen many people telling people to stop sending their thoughts and prayers during tragedies. You even have articles like this one, that go as far as downright mocking God and Christians. This one made it look as though God is fake, useless, and careless, and that people are being equally so by praying to him.

Why

Why? Because they insist that they need to get off their knees, unfold their hands, open their eyes, get there, meet the victims, give or send money, volunteer or take some other physical action of the sort. True, we do need more people to do just that, but here's the thing: not everyone is in a position to do that. It would be great to have millions come together and partake in physical action or to send money, but it's not feasible for everyone. Yes, some people do happen to use it meaninglessly, with no relation to God, but how can you even be so sure about that? Let's discuss God for a little and why he allegedly "does nothing" during tragedies such as this.

Where Is God In Tragedies?
From the beginning of time, we have been given the freedom of choice: good or bad. 2018? Same thing: good or bad. We have the choice to prefer soccer over basketball. The choice to choose an iPhone 8 Plus over a Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Alright, so most people get that, but why does God have to cause us to suffer such awful tragedies? Is he deaf, blind, sadistic or something? No, the opposite. It is we, that have made the world the way it is by constantly choosing to do an evergrowing list of horrible things to each other. As much as we would love for life to be all sunshine, rainbows, lilies and singing canaries, it isn't. We cannot, and should not, condemn God every time something does not go exactly the way we want it to. Evil is present in this world, and as such, the consequences that come along with it. God is present in each and every tragedy, and is indeed fully capable of stopping them, but does not stop all of them. Sometimes the reason is obvious and apparent. At other times, it isn't. This leaves us upset and causes others to cuss God, or insult those that choose to believe in him.

The Real Solution
Two things:

1. No more "right to keep and bear arms" A lot of people will strongly disagree, but you know what? It's time for it to go. Time have proven for long enough, that this is an unnecessary form of self-defense. There are over 190 countries in the world, but only protect the right to bear arms in their constitutions: United States of America, Mexico and Guatemala. Just three. Due to the United States significant international presence, its stories get the most press and notice whenever an incident occurs. There are many nations that rank higher in terms of living and personal safety, none of which obviously have the loose arms law in place. No more guns for regular citizens.

2. It's high time for Donald Trump, the American president, to acknowledge that gun violence is more than just a mental problem. It can be both, but do not insist it's only always one and not the other. As proven with several of the cases, not every gun operator has a history of mental illness, nor does testing reveal any. In fact, constantly using the "mental illness" as an excuse for every criminal, does nothing but stigmatize those that are mentally ill, but harmless. After all, he has the power to revoke the gun law. Talk about blaming God, when he was never the one that told us to go ahead and manufacture guns by the millions, and then make laws that allow your citizens to use them for self-defense. The control is clearly in America's hands.

Conclusion
If you can help, help. If you cannot, there is no harm in otherwise wishing someone well, hoping and praying for the best. In situations like this, where the power is clearly in our hands to make change, we must push for it. Now, I know that a lot of people will be tempted to point out that there are many other things that can be used abusively. Spears, arrows and kitchen knives are fantastic examples. Even your cat and dog can be trained to be abusive. However, these tools are not capable of massive, quick murder. Guns, as cool as they look, sound, and are fun for certain sports, have been abused to unacceptable levels. Denial will not help.

Improving My Affiliate Marketing Section

There are a few changes I've brought to the videos that were uploaded threes days ago. But there's a major one that I did not mention in the entry yesterday, and that's the "Merchandise/Affiliate marketing" section. Let me show you what all videos prior May 18, 2018 looked like in that area :

If I had to ask anyone to use emojis to describe that, they'd look like this: ๐Ÿ˜จ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜ฐ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿคฌ๐Ÿคข๐Ÿคฎ. If I told them to describe it in words... oh boy... responses would be highly variable. So let's just state the obvious here: it looks very chaotic, tacky, spammy and desperate. Let's emphasize the latter two words one more time: Spammy and desperate. It's no wonder it's been such a bot magnet. ๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿค–๐Ÿ’€ There's far too many links, that often don't have anything to do with the given videos, or only partially at times.

So this leads to a serious question you must be wondering: Why am I coming out with this? Why do you need to know this, when you never asked, noticed or cared in the first place? Well, whether you care about my content or not, there's a very important lesson to learn here, and that is affiliate marketing is supposed to be about useful, relevant content. If the video is about travelling, then the affiliate links should be about products that have to do with travelling such as passport holders or travel adapters for example. What on Earth would Victoria's Secret or Norton have to do with an outdoors trail?! While it may sound very hilarious to imagine a women running down a trail in Victoria's Secret attire while doing a computer virus scan, it's not considered relevant to serious shoppers and certainly not to search engines.

This month I've brought a few quality changes to the channel. The improved thumbnail graphics and channel banner are the things that are the most noticeable. With the affiliate area being buried in the description, it likely isn't something most care or bother with, but I felt that it was something that needed to be re-worked for future videos. It would be painstaking to go and fix up the section for the older ~345 videos. But with this post, you now know that videos uploaded from the date mentioned above won't look like that anymore. Using Walking On The Trans-Canada Trail And Then Elizabeth Street as example, here is a fine example of the improvement:

An outdoors video with links to products that would actually be useful to people who plan to spend some time outdoors. While some of you might see this entire post as an eye roll, and state that this should have been common sense, trust me, affiliate marketing is a fiercely competitive field, where it can seem like the "Department Style" approach would be a good way to stand out and try in rank in some sales, but it isn't. View this post as just me being transparent with things and the changes I've made for the better.

May 20th Entry: Apple Products

GuuzakaTube                                                                                                  2018-05-20

May 20th Entry: Apple Products

Yep, there are six videos in this recent batch of uploads, and half of them are dedicated to products from Apple. ๐ŸŽ Ironically, none of them were actually bought directly from Apple. Instead, they were bought from authorized or highly credible third parties. Apple aside, shall we talk about Meghan and Harry's wedding? No? Alright, we'll proceed to discussing the latest videos instead! ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜ณ

The Vencer Sarthe sucks. The end. Too short? Fine, we'll talk some more, even though there's nothing super exciting that goes on this video. Assembling the Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG was honestly more exciting than this weak thing. It's really and truly disappointing that its Season 9 track in Brazil only pays a meagerly 3800 credits. ๐Ÿ˜’ But despite the pathetic pay, at least it does have a Season 9 track and Mastery races to begin with, unlike those stupid Hot Wheel Cars which don't. I believe I mentioned it in the video already, but if it were truly "beyond their means" to add such races in the game, then Gameloft shouldn't have added them in the first place. I still think that's a grand lie to cover their backsides for something that goofed up in the development process, but whatever. The Vencer Sarthe does look pretty good, and the Championship gave me the opportunity to collect tokens and forced-induction V8 engines. Oh yes, and while we're on the topic of Asphalt 8 and Gameloft, I should mention that I'm in the process of trying to get my longstanding BlackBerry 10 account transferred to my iPhone 6s Plus. I contacted Customer Care on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 and received a response the following day:

Dear ๐Ÿคฌ๐Ÿคฌ๐Ÿคฌ๐Ÿคฌ๐Ÿคฌ๐Ÿคฌ๐Ÿคฌ,

Thank you for contacting Gameloft Customer Care.

Kindly note that Asphalt 8 is not a cross-platform game, so you can't synchronize your game progress if you play on two different platform devices.

However if you want to transfer your game between devices with a different platform then we can perform the transfer manually.

Please provide us your Gameloft Player ID of the iPhone device.

You can find your GP ID by going to Options > Info > About.

Kindly note that if you decide to get the progress from your Blackberry on your iPhone and we transfer it, then we will have to reset your progress on your old device.

Please let us know about your decision.

Best regards,

Ok, this sounds great! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ I have not received a response on Friday, so here's hoping that they will let me know what's happening to my account on Monday. So this must leave you guys with a serious question: What will I do with my Windows Phone account? Continue to use it of course! It will remain my primary account, while my iPhone account will be used for recording actual races. Something that I've tried to do for my Windows Phone by using my BlackBerry Q10 due to the lack of a screen recording application. I have stopped trying to record actual races long ago, due to the sheer annoyances and difficulties of trying to capture a gigantic tilting Nokia with the BlackBerry Q10's tiny recording frame. ☹ Too miserable and not worth the crummy results it produces. ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿพ

Does this title sound familiar? Because it should. If you step way back, you'll see a video on my channel titled Trans-Canada Trail: North/Central Strip. Yep, that was uploaded back on July 26, 2016! ๐Ÿคฏ Yeah, nearly two years ago. And of course, that video was also garbage. It had poor sound quality, was unstable and no 4K. Ah, those crummy recording days of mine. ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜ณ Now this video is notably longer, because I not only cover the trail, but also part of Riverside Golf Club and Elizabeth Street. Now unlike that video that was solely done for the purpose of showcasing the trail, this one had a completely different purpose: a motivational video. ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿคจ Yep, that's right. This is why there is no commentary on the video itself. Now you're obviously curious as to why this did not happen. It's because I changed my mind and decided to use another type of footage for that motive-themed video. Will that "motivational video" ever see the day of light? The answer to that question is possibly, but not this month. One thing I should say, is that it's not going to be some studio-grade video, in case anyone was about to get their hopes up high. It's going to have a similar outdoors theme to this video, so that should give you an idea of what to expect, if it does get the green light after all.

Ok, so from just looking at the thumbnail alone, you already know exactly what the video is about: me unboxing a Lightning to USB Cable and USB Power Adapter. Why did I order these when these come standard with your typical iPhone? It's because the iPhone 6s Plus  I bought, only came with just the phone itself. To learn more about my transaction with the seller, how it went, and what I thought of the iPhone, skip to the "iPhone 6S Plus Rose Gold Unboxing" subheading. The only other thing I have to say, is that the chargers work flawlessly. Of course, Best Buy is an authorized vendor after all, that sells the real deal. Despite this, there is the odd time where you could get a factory defect, but this was thankfully not the case!๐Ÿ˜„

I'm not going to lie, I really love how well I edited the thumbnail for this video. ๐Ÿค— It looks so good! I know, I know, say what you will, but you know it's gorgeous! ๐Ÿ˜ So like Episode #5, Episode #7 also features a candle. The glass bowl really added much beauty to the visual aspects of this video, but too bad the playing wasn't sensual and romantic! ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜… No, you do not have to use a saxophone or piano for that type of music. ๐ŸŽท❤๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’›๐ŸŽน

So, do I need to explain why I wanted the rose gold colour? Or are we past that "Waaaaaa! Pink is for girls stage?" Ok, it looks like we're good. Now as I've stated in the video itself, the rose gold iPhone 6s Plus actually looks bronze most of the time. The flash photo taken from the BlackBerry Q10 sure did bring out the pink in it, though. So alright, now it's time to answer several important questions that I'd anticipate viewers to ask.

Question #1: You've been using BlackBerry 10 for years, so what made you finally pick up an iPhone?
Answer: When my Nokia Lumia 1520 got lost for a few days in a shopping centre, I was not sure if I'd ever see it again. Of course, as you can tell from the photographs above, I was able to retrieve it, thanks to an employee spotting it and locking it away in safety. Thank God for that! ๐Ÿ˜… During it's absence, I thought that it would be time to try a modern, widely supported, operating system. I went with iOS for its application quality and consistent performance. Even though I've bashed poked fun at iPhones hundreds of times for having no microSD card slot (and still do๐Ÿ˜ˆ), and the 2017 and newer ones for no headphone jack, I wanted my first foray into a mainstream operating system to be smooth. That's not to say that I think all Android smartphones are absolute lag monsters, but that iOS really does offer more consistency and better support.

Question #2: Why Rose Gold?
Answer: It's the closest thing to red. Black and white smartphones are really boring. Besides, I won't pretend that I do like pink. Laugh, I dare you! ๐Ÿ”ซ๐Ÿ˜œ

Question #3: Why didn't you go for the newest iPhones available?
Answer: Not only are they considerably more expensive, they also have glass backs, no headphone jacks and no clickable home button. That's not to say that I won't ever buy a new iPhone, but considering that the iPhone 6s Plus is still powerful, still being supported and offers more useful hardware features, so I don't see why going for the newest iPhone 8 Plus would be beneficial here.

Question #4: How was your experience buying an iPhone through an alternate vendor?
Answer: It was thankfully really good! While it was a little disappointing that the iPhone did not come with the usual accessories you'd get buying directly from them, the iPhone was in near-perfect condition, legitimate, and had the 128GB of storage I was worried about it not having. Did I also mention the cost? At the time of this writing, an iPhone 6s Plus cost $869.00 CAD directly from Apple. I got mine for about $494.00. If we toss taxes and the cost of buying the power equipment and holster case into it, it came up to around $650. Still a significant amount of savings! ๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿ’ธ Yes, it is riskier than buying straight from the manufacturer or a wireless carrier, but with proper research and credential checking, the benefits are well worth it. It also helps that eBay is not some shoddy blackmarket. There's obviously nothing wrong with buying a smartphone directly from its company, but for a smartphone released in 2015, no matter how powerful the name or processor is, paying close to $1000 CAD is straight up ridiculous and not worth it.

Question #5: What possibilities do you think the iPhone could bring for your content, and even beyond that?
Answer: Nothing "record-breaking" but with an app-rich ecosystem and a better camera than my current than my current Nokia Lumia 1520 and BlackBerry Q10, it could lead to some interesting opportunities I have yet to take full advantage of.

So that does it for anticipated questions! Of course, if you have something you want to ask that wasn't answered, you're more than welcome to comment down below. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ“

Remember Black and Blue Nokia Lumia 1520 Robotic Belt Clip Stand Hard Soft Cover Case Unboxing? Yeah, you can see it pictured right above and have seen it in the video. These two are exactly the same, despite some manufacturers calling it "unbranded" or others listing it as "Insten". Whatever it is, I really like them. Because I have yet to have one fall from a high height onto a hard surface like asphalt or gravel, I'm not sure about how tough they truly are. For what they do, offer at least basic protection, look good, and can attach to your belt or pockets, they really excel at that. Really wish these existed for the BlackBerry Q10. The closest thing I could find was the "MPERO Collection 3 in 1 Tough Blue Kickstand Case for BlackBerry Q10". I know, some of these cases have some really long names. ๐Ÿคฃ Not much else I have to say, other than I'm glad that the iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6s Plus can use the same cases. Still not 100% sure about everything single case there is between these two, but for the most part, you're good. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Quite interesting how this batch of videos was uploaded on May 18, 2018, and then the last batch was April 18, 2018. Yeah, I've slowed down the quantity of videos because I have to focus on much more important worthy things. YouTube's constant policy changes are too oppressive to bother investing the time I used to. I really hope that a solid platform will merge soon to give them some good competition! ๐Ÿ˜ˆ But despite this, I have not totally quit. I realize that doing that would just make the channel completely fade away. Upon coming back to upload, you'll notice that I've made the thumbnails much more lively with vibrant texts, emojis, or just well-edited thumbnails, similar to what you might see on higher traffic channels. Don't worry, there is no clickbait and there won't be. ๐Ÿ˜‰  Another area where I've made changes with, is with the blog: no more burying news that should be a standalone post under What's Next & Other Ramblings. It's chaotic and annoying for readers. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ As such, the post I was about to make in regards to a confession, will be done in another blog post.

So what exactly is next in terms of videos? Not entirely sure. When June comes, we'll know. Oh yes, I should also mention that my channel's artwork has been entirely replaced with something far more vibrant. Much credit to Adrienne Elle's video on how to make your channel art fit across all devices. Carina Fragozo, I owe you credit for inspiring me to change it in the first place. ๐Ÿ˜Ž So I've discussed the videos, highlighted some of the visual changes, and will discuss the next important quality upgrade in another post.

Mother's Day 2018 Entry

GuuzakaTube                                                                                                  2018-05-13

Mother's Day 2018 Entry

Ah, it's that time of the year again: Mother's Day! ๐Ÿ˜„ The day where we officially acknowledge mothers. Well, this day may not be seen as a significant day for some, understandably for variable, personal circumstances. For most of us though, it is an annual holiday observed across many countries, but certainly not all of them. Some countries do not recognize it, while others apparently just have one day for both parents. Alright, there's admittedly not a ton I have to say here, so just have a Happy Mother's Day! I do not know how hot or cold it might be where you are, but let's just hope it's good enough to go outdoors.

Ok, now for the photographs I posted on Instagram yesterday! ๐Ÿ“ธ

Aren't they lovely? ๐Ÿ˜
