Were you aware that May 1st is apparently an ancient festival of Spring, and a present traditional spring holiday in many European cultures? πŸ€” And that dances, singing, and cake are usually part of those festivities? 🀨 I wasn't either. I thought May 1st was just simply that: May 1st. Another fresh day. Well, for obvious reasons, there will be no public dancing and festivities this year. 🦠

Anyways! In the last entry, I said that I was supposed to get the March 2020 and April 2020 videos up on the channel right? 😳 Well, now it is May 2020, and with the exception of Asphalt 9: Legends - Paysche Season, and Asphalt 9: Legends - Porsche Showers Bring May Flowers, I have not uploaded squat! 😣πŸ˜₯πŸ˜–πŸ˜³πŸ₯΅πŸ₯ΆπŸ˜πŸ˜±

I know, how severely slack of me to let two months pass without uploading the videos filmed in their respective months! πŸ˜“ Mark my words: Another month shall not pass without me uploading the videos of March 2020 and April 2020! 😀 Unless of course, something goes terribly wrong, like YouTube breaking, a storm that wipes out power for an extended time, and so forth. You get the idea. 😢

COVID-19? 🦠 You're probably sick of hearing about it, but it thankfully has not had a serious impact on my life. Do I think the economy should reopen this month? πŸ€” I honestly have not read Premier Ford's guideline. From what I get to understand, he is doing it very cautiously, sector by sector, with strict guidelines. So long as they do not greedily and impatiently rush things, perhaps they could proceed to reopening this month. ⌚

Tired of waiting things out at home? πŸ€” Consider getting a brand new All-In-One Computer or smartphone, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, playing board games, doing puzzles, drawing, flicking fidget spinners, Rubik's Cubes, painting, playing musical instruments, and oh so many more! 🀩 Seriously, if I were to list all the possible things you could do at home, the length of this blog post would make a reticulated python jealous! πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ

Oh yeah, that's another thing too: you can now give your pet more attention! πŸ•πŸˆπŸ’ I've seen hundreds of hilarious cats and dogs at computers over the last several weeks. Alright, time to go. Happy May 1st. 🍰

March 28, 2017 Uploads

Can you believe that we're already a quarter way through 2017? I know. Time surely flies! And the fact that the clock jumped an hour ahead for many of us three weeks ago, has likely added to that fast feeling. The weather has also finally gotten a little better for those of us in southern Ontario, but is by no means warm yet! Anyways! Let's discuss those three places I just uploaded.

Robert Samuel McLaughlin Collegiate and Vocational Institute. According to word, that's 7 words and 60 characters. Wow, definitely quite a mouthful alright! So, did you know that I sort of almost ended up not filming this school, nor the neighbouring places I filmed around it? Yeah! Want to know why? Because of the rain! That day, it was raining quite a bit, but not terribly heavily. I was thinking, “Guess I won't be going out today” Until when I looked at the hourly forecast, I noticed that the rain was scheduled to stop in the early afternoon. Now as we all know (or should know!) is the fact that sometimes these weather forecasts can be so unpredictable, but this time, this one held true to its forecast and stopped raining. When I saw that the rain had seized and that it wasn't scheduled to come back, I went out to visit the Stevenson & Rossland area in Oshawa to film this place, and neighbouring Adelaide. “How did you like RS?” You might ask. Well, from the commentary that I made on the video, you can tell that I found it to be a big, hilly place. It was also pretty cloudy, which made the video look a little duller than it should. This and the combination of my voice may(?) have made it sound like I wasn't too thrilled, but I found it to be an alright place to film. The centre hill area was pretty chill. You've seen it in the video, so you know what's next: Adelaide! And still, I haven't bothered researching the two yet. I know. How lazy and slack of me!

This school! It seems to be a relatively small school, judging from the amount of time it took to walk around it. It could be one those places where it's larger than it looks on the inside. Who knows. All I know is that it was a bit of a pain to navigate, thanks to a fence on one of the sides. While annoying for me, it's honestly there for the safety of the kids, because you don't want kids falling and breaking some part of them on the concrete, so it was necessary. Well, I guess they could have solved that steep area by turning it into a slope, or even better, stairs! Why didn't they do that? I don't know... I'm not the architecture or engineer here, but it doesn't take the knowledge of either of those two titles to realize that stairs would have worked out better for that spot. Even though it sounds like I'm making a big deal here, I honestly don't care as much as I sound like do. The place was somewhat small and it doesn't take long to get from one point to another. So! What did I think of this school? I'll be honest: not very interesting. Not horrendously boring either, but Newcastle Public School and Military Trail were much more interesting than this.

Whew! I honestly don't have much to say about this place! It was not a terribly exciting place to walk around and discuss, and like Adelaide, was annoying to navigate. Ouch! You're thinking that I must have hated this place, but truth is, I don't. Why did I film it? Because I passed it on my way when I was heading up to Stevenson and Rossland to film RS and Adelaide McLaughlin, so I decided to come back to it when I was finished with those two. I was honestly kind of nervous about how my irritating, old smartphone would do something dumb like reboot and or shutoff, and surely it did. Thankfully, it did this before I actually started filming the school, and stopped with the foolishness after holding down the power button and volume rocker for 10 seconds (soft reset). After that, there were no more troubles for the day. It helped that it wasn't terribly cold either, because if it were, no amount of resetting would have saved it. Anyway! While Woodcrest wasn't terribly fun, it had a nice chill area.

Didn't expect to come home with three outdoor videos that day, but I did and was surprised about the results. So what's next for my channel? Like usual, you can expect to see an outdoor video or two, next week. I'll also get started on a commentary video this week, so I can publish it next week along with the outdoor adventures. Gaming? So far, no issues, but I do not plan to record a gaming session for next week. Now about those outros and intros: if you've seen the latest videos, you'll undeniably notice the new intros. If you happen to be in the interesting criteria of being a viewer who has been watching for a while, and has a longer than average attention span, you'll notice that the outros have gone from annotated CTAs, plain narrative Call-to-Actions, CTAs with fipple flute drones or songs, to now synthesized keyboard instruments. Ah, quite the metamorphosis, eh? Why am I bringing this up? Because it has proven to be ridiculous amounts of fun! Seriously. March 14, 2017 was the day I decided to fit some batteries into an ancient (10-15 years old???), but functional keyboard and – boy oh boy! The day I did that, was the day I got creative with these variable intros and outros. The ending of the long-chat Samsung Galaxy Note 7 commentary video, was where I first experimented with this and loved the results! And now it is time to stop chatting here and get some other things done!

JUNE 8 Uploads

6.10.16

In this entry, I'll be discussing the videos I uploaded two days ago which are Touring Brooklin High School [exterior], Trans-Canada Trail: Southern strip off Highway 2, and of course Asphalt 8: Rushing RUFs in Barcelona.

This video took place on a Saturday in May when it was pleasantly sunny, but not as warm as I'd like to be. Not cold per se, but could have been better. I was thinking about where I wanted to go on the weekend during that week, but wasn't entirely sure. I wanted to go somewhere I haven't been before, so I eventually looked at Brooklin and decided that I'd definitely head there over the weekend. When I arrived there, I filmed Brooklin High School. The school looks quite new and fresh, as it was apparently opened just last year in 2015. Wow. Nothing jaw dropping about the architecture or anything, but it was still a nice area to tour. I explored some of the other streets within the area as well. Based on my first impressions, Brooklin is a nice looking, picturesque town with A LOT of gorgeous detached and semi-detached houses. It wasn't caught on video, but there was also a moment where I heard and briefly witnessed some kind of 2-door Porsche zipping by with its powerful, sporty exhaust note. Rich, suburban town? Yeah, I think I'd say so. I may come back to explore other areas in the future, though I'm not exactly sure when.

As mentioned in the video description, this area wasn't exactly new to me, but what is new was the fact that there was a southern portion that I've never trekked before, so I decided to explore it on either the 28th or 29th of May, or possibly the 5th of June. Can't believe I forgot the exact date already! Oh well. Anyways, I was expecting this place to be your typical trail with paths, lots of trees and maybe creeks and streams, and it was. But there was also a lot of unexpected colourful graffiti and other oddities here and there. Quite a lot of the paths in this place will often take you to dead ends near cliffs, while others bring you out to streets. Either way, it wasn't difficult to find your way here and there, especially when compared to the winding paths on the northern strip, nor was getting lost an issue. This is kind of random, but apparently the creek in this area seems like it had a bit of an issue with eel lampreys, so there was a structure installed in the creek to curb the breeding. I honestly wasn't 100% what those things looked like, but when I Googled them and saw their appearances, and what they do to other fish, I was just like “Ouch!” It's really not pretty…

In this playthrough of Asphalt 8, I play in Barcelona with the two Porsche (ok, I probably need to stop with these cheesy Porsche-RUF jokes) RUF cars RT 12 S and CTR 3. The purpose was to compare the speeds, but I didn't drive too well during the onscreen recording with the RT 12 S, so you'll see quite a gap between the two, but when I did again off screen it was only about two seconds or so. Still, the CTR 3 is the better choice, because it's still faster despite it's fake top speed, handles better and has a slightly longer lasting nitro. Now, there is a poll present that asks which of these two cars you like better and for me it's the --------------------------- RUF RT 12 S! For some reason, even though it's supposedly weaker than it's Class S counterpart, I just like it better primarily for emotional reasons: it just looks better, sounds better (in game), has an accurate speed bar and just appeals to me more overall, despite it's flaws compared to its sibling and even the other Class A cars. Regardless, I must admit that I enjoy wrecking RUFs when I'm not playing as them, and I've heard about others that do too! Their big circular eyes, the way they zip and zigzag, and awful CP manners makes them such desirable knocking targets!

So I guess that concludes it for this entry. No commentary on other videos this time, but maybe next time?
