July 4th Entry: The June 2019 Dozen

July 4th Entry: The June 2019 Dozen

๐Ÿ”ตThis blog post may contain affiliate links

Yeah, thanks to the mix up that took place in May, it has made the upload and blog post schedule rather off. ๐Ÿ˜ต I'd normally like to have the blog post done the same month the videos are uploaded, but alas! Haven't been able to do it for May or June, so now here I am doing the blog post for June 2019 in July. ๐Ÿ˜ Hopefully, July's videos will be able to have their blog post done in July, so things can be more "in sync".

Video and blog post upload complaints aside, July is a rather festive, patriotic month for Canadians and Americans alike. ๐Ÿ๐Ÿฆ… This is due to the obvious national celebrations that take place on the 1st and 4th respectively. If you've read "Canada Day 2019: Canada's 152nd Anniversary!" you'll know I spent my Canada Day doing the usual. And yes, I was able to successfully capture another video, photos, and all. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ๐Ÿ“ฑ๐ŸŒ

And because the day I've uploaded this blog post happens to be July 4th, happy Independence Day to my American viewers! ๐Ÿฆ…✨๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽŠ God bless America! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ

Alright, let's discuss the June 2019 uploads now. ๐ŸŒŠ

Ah, Lakeview Park. Oshawa's most frequently visited coastal park. Was hoping for it to be a sunnier day, but it was rather cold in opinion. ๐Ÿ˜’ Yeah, I don't know what was up with June 2019, but it wasn't as warm as it should be for southern Ontario. Nevertheless, I was able to get a nice video and photos. Speaking of videos, you'll notice the following in the comment section:

"If you're wondering why "Nokia Lumia 1520 4K Lakeview Park June 2019 Visit" and "Nokia Lumia 1520 4K Lakewoods Park Lookout June 2019 Visit" do not look as sharp as they should for 4K videos, it's because the codec quality was at 59% - 69% when they were exported...๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿพ‍♂️ Now that I'm aware of this, the videos that will be uploaded in the coming days should look better."

You want to know what the real problem was? I was supposed to set the codec to "Default for format" ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿพ‍♂️ It's no wonder after setting it to 100%, my videos were exponentially increasing their size! Like 80 to 90GB!!! ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜จ๐Ÿ˜ณ On top of that, I was setting it to libx264 or h264_qsv, and wondering why they would go hours to process, only to end up not even being playable. ๐Ÿ’€ Yeah, so that too, was another thing that held up the upload dates and blog posts for June 2019... ๐Ÿ˜ฃ๐Ÿ˜– Learning an entirely new video editor has certainly proven to be a challenge. ๐Ÿ˜ต Thankfully, I've gotten so much better at it, over a fairly short time. My videos are no longer degrading their quality, coming out blacked out, or at ridiculous files sizes. Who would have thought something as simple as "default for format" would have saved me so much headaches, resources, and time? ๐Ÿ˜…

This hill indeed gives you a good look at the lower coasts of Oshawa. But, um, as you can see from the video, the water at this part clearly has a problem... ๐Ÿ˜ต๐Ÿคข๐Ÿ™ˆ Not sure if it is algae, garbage, or both. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Commentary & Discussion With Walk Around Footage June 2019
This video has been cancelled, and may not end up ever being created after all. This was largely due to time constraints. It's a shame, because I really wanted to have a good chat about a variety of things happening. ๐Ÿ˜

No, I did not end up getting the Class S speed kings, but certainly did not expect to either. The goal was to get much closer to unlocking them. If you've watched the whole video, you'll see that I did end up unlocking the Lamborghini Aventador Jerk Chicken! ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚

When most people think of Oshawa's coastal parks, they think of Lakeview Park as the default. But you know what? Their are some better gems, and I believe this is definitely one of them. Seriously, I was in awe of the beautiful photographs and videos I was able to capture with my 3 smartphones. For the Nokia Lumia 1520, I stood mainly in the area under the tree with the pink flowers. A brief part of the video does take place at the Intrepid-Lakefront border, where I started the BlackBerry Passport's video of this place.

As mentioned above, the Intrepid-Lakefront border is where I decided to start the BlackBerry Passport's video. While the high frame rates are plenty smooth, I do honestly wish this phone had 4k. Would have made everything so much more detailed, but whatever. I like it for what it is: a broad, QWERTY smartphone with a high-end chipset running its own operating system. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ I went as far west as I could before beginning the iPhone 6s Plus' video. Lo and behold, the area with the geese was accessible this time! ๐Ÿคฏ Someone put a narrow, but wide enough to put your foot on, piece of wood across the water to make the area accessible. Not sure what inspired them to do it, but I can imagine that if the geese and seagulls could talk, they would have been shouting lots of expletives at the person who did it! ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚

I started filming with the iPhone 6s Plus shortly after the geese departed for the lake. Some opted for the marsh. I'm not going to lie: as much as I love the user interface and micro SD cards on the BlackBerry Passport and Nokia Lumia 1520, the iPhone 6s Plus takes the best videos of the three. If the Nokia Lumia 1520 didn't have such fudged up software problems with the camera, it would been much closer to the iPhone 6s Plus, but nope! Being only able to record 9ish minutes at a time, if the device isn't too hot, sucks. It's better than using the stock camera where it would stop saving the video without you even knowing. But even then, I've found that Lumia Camera Beta does the same thing too, if you leave the focus on before ending a video. Also when you tamper with some of the settings like EV, white balance and so forth, which defeats the purpose of being able to truly a enjoy a 20MP camera with Carl Zeiss lenses. ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿพ‍♂️ As a photo-taker, the Nokia Lumia 1520 is a boss. Videos? Not so much, due to the problems mentioned. Video quality in daylight is very fine, which is why I even bother with it in the first place. I also like that you can view your photo and video's information, rename them and so forth. Something, the iPhone cannot do, unless you move it out of the camera roll.... ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿพ‍♂️ So stupid...

In terms of reliability, the BlackBerry Passport is on par with the iPhone 6s Plus. The only obvious downfault is its lack of 4k. Still, its quality is fair enough, but certainly no award winner. 4k aside, it's overall the most well-rounded camera of the three. Not only can you rename and look at file information in the camera roll like on Windows or Android, but you can also take photographs in 1:1, 4:3 and 16:9 without the use of 3rd party application. Something both Windows Phone and iOS can't boast. All in all, you can see that these three certainly have their great strengths, and weaknesses. Something tells me that Android can probably do everything those 3 operating systems can, but better... Am I wrong or right? ๐Ÿคจ Comment on that and let me know.๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿพ✍๐Ÿพ

The primary focus of this episode is video game music! ๐ŸŽฎ๐ŸŽถ I didn't play them too well, but an attempt is better than no attempt. ๐Ÿ˜…

My Dell Inspiron 2350 becomes such a volcano whenever it's exporting 4K videos! ๐Ÿฅต๐ŸŒ‹๐ŸŒ‹๐Ÿฅต I'm sure a lot of you with all-in-one computers or laptops can resonate with this. Those with tower-based computers can easily upgrade and fit fans inside. Not so for those of us with all-in-one computers or laptops. Well ok, maybe some of them have the space for them. For my case, I decided to just go with two external fans to keep the Dell cool, when it clocks those cores. Yes, I know, I know, you thought I bought those fans to keep myself cool, eh? ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚ Well, no, not really. The smaller fan with the foot, is honestly not very useful, and produces a rather noisy "vibrative" sound. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ For this reason, I thought heavily about returning the Opolar First Oscillating Mini Fan in exchange to get another 22.8cm Opolar fan, but decided to keep it largely as a decorative fan. I may consider getting a 27.9cm Comlife fan, but maybe only if the price returns back to $40 and not $84! Not a fan of that fan's price at all! ๐Ÿฅต๐Ÿ˜ณ

I always had the impression that this was a very large school from seeing it one the maps. The day comes to explore it, and I wasn't wrong. The real surprise was hearing people drumming in the parking lot that weekend. ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿฅ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽต Still have no idea why they were doing it, but it was an interesting thing to hear. ๐Ÿ˜† It's not often you randomly hear drums in a parking lot. Actually, it depends on where you live.

Really wished I charged my Nokia Lumia 1520 that day, before going out! ๐Ÿ˜ฃ I would been able to cover Hermitage Park, which turned out to be much bigger than I thought. Oh well. Based on some comments from other videos, people do actually care about me covering the parks. Makes sense, because the parks are sometimes more interesting than the buildings themselves! ๐Ÿ˜† As for Lincoln, it wasn't terribly interesting, but not boring either. Covering its park properly, would have made the video better. Or not? ๐Ÿค”

I've seen parades before, but this would be my first time watching and filming. It was a good show! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽŠ๐ŸŽถ It's wasn't as sunny as I would have liked it to be, but the music and costumes were great. ๐ŸŽญ๐ŸŽจ I hope to film the Caribbean Celebration that takes place in Toronto next year. It's an annual thing, but wasn't able to go this year. I hear it can get pretty raucous. ๐Ÿ˜ต๐Ÿ˜ฒ

I don't know about you, but there's just something special about exploring a neighbourhood before it becomes a neighbourhood. It's just cool walking the roads before they're even paved, seeing all the building materials, the houses before they're layered and all. Because this neighbourhood runs from Dundas to Rossland, and is close to Highway 412, I don't imagine it to be a very quiet place. ๐Ÿ˜… At the same time, it'll be very convenient to those that need quick access to Highway 401 or 407.

"Will 'Commentary & Discussion With Walk Around Footage June 2019' ever see the day of light?" I honestly don't know, but it's likely that it may not. If it does, it'll obviously have to go by a different title.

"What's the deal with those letters and numbers next to the GuuzakaTube in your photographs?" Those would be the model numbers and regional variants of the smartphones I've used to take the pictures. This is something I started including since June 14, 2019.

Now with those questions out of the way, what can you expect? MORE LAKE VIDEOS!!!!!๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿคช๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿคช That's it ---------------------------- Kidding! ๐Ÿคก Uh, Asphalt 9, Casual Instrumental Noise Session #23, and some outdoor videos. Oh, and an unboxing or possibly two.

Really glad to finally have my iPhone 6s Plus back in the outdoor filming game. On the more unfortunate side of things, it looks like I may have to get my BlackBerry Passport's camera replaced. ๐Ÿ˜ฃ Why? It "twitches" when it tries to focus. We'll see though...

Canada Day 2019: Canada's 152nd Anniversary!

Canada Day 2019: Canada's 152nd Anniversary!

Happy Canada Day 2019! ๐Ÿฅณ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽ‡๐ŸŽ†๐ŸŽˆ๐Ÿ If you've been reading my blog long enough, you'll know what I plan to do today: watch fireworks, then upload the show later in July. ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ˜Ž Because it's the last year of a decade, I wonder if the show will reflect that? ๐Ÿค” Well, I guess that may depend on where you go to view the fireworks. After all, Lake Ontario has a huge coastline. Of course, not all Canadians live near a large body of water, or even Ontario for the matter, so there's lots of variable odds here.

Anyways! Have fun, be sober, rock your Canada Day gear, and stay safe! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ
